GAVIN Massey hailed the character of his Colchester United team after they came from behind before snatching a 3-2 victory against Ipswich Town.
Massey netted a last-gasp winner in tonight’s pre-season friendly, after two goals from Alex Gilbey.
Afterwards he said: “It was a great result and we showed real character to come back twice.
“Even when we were behind, we felt confident and felt we’d get a goal.
“Thankfully, Gilbey popped up with two and I was able to grab a winner.
“It’s a real confidence-booster and will help get us ready for Blackpool at home (in the U’s first League One game, on August 8).”
