A WOMAN who crashed her car into a ditch has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The woman was found unconscious in a Peugeot 207 which had crashed into a ditch in Bures Road, White Colne.

Fire crews from Halstead and Coggeshall were called at 3.54am on Sunday, June 26.

The woman was found trapped in her car and the crews gave her critical trauma care.

The side of the car had to be removed to get her out, and she was left in the care of the ambulance service.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and an ambulance to the scene.

The woman did not sustain any serious injuries but she was collared and boarded as a precaution and was taken to Colchester Hospital.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a collision in White Colne on Sunday, June 26.

"Police were contacted at 3.50am with reports of a collision involving a silver Peugeot 207. Minor injuries were sustained.

"The arrested woman has been bailed pending further enquiries to report back on July 28."
