Halstead X-Factor winner Matt Cardle is to star in a popular musical theatre show.
Matt announced he will be a part of & Juliet, which will tour around the UK and Ireland.
Matt will be taking on the role of William Shakespeare, who is a main character in the West End musical.
Based on the book by David West Read, the show twists the classic tale of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet into a story where Juliet can have a second chance at life and love.
Matt serves as a narrator in the show and while he is actively creating a new destiny and story for Juliet, Shakespeare ignores wife Anne's advice.
A show spokesman said: "Get whisked away on a fabulous journey as Juliet ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning.
"Created by the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek, this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told and asks what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo?"
Matt will embark on the series of performances in June 2024.
