THE half-term films at the Empire will finish with two top kids' flicks.

Showing tomorrow morning, Friday, February 23, is the PG-rated Who Framed Roger Rabbit, a great family film with animation combined with live interaction played by Bob Hoskins.

Toon star Roger is worried that wife Jessica is playing "patty cake" with someone else so the studio hires a detective to snoop on her.

On Saturday, the showing is Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, also rated PG.

It tells the story of a shy adolescent who learns she comes from a fabled royal family of legendary sea krakens and her destiny lies in the depths of the waters.

Doors open at 10am for 10.30am for both performances. All seats are just £3.

There is no film on the evening of Friday, February 23, with the Empire instead hosting its comedy club evening.

Doors will open at 7.30pm for 8pm. Tickets are £20.

The Wednesday afternoon matinee, on February 28, will be the PG-rated Leap Year.

Anna Brady plans to travel to Ireland to propose to boyfriend Jeremy on February 29, because according to Irish traditions, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a Leap Year must accept it.

Doors open at 2pm for 2.30pm. All seats are £7.50.

The Empire has also set out other upcoming live shows at the venue.

The Rod Stewart Songbook will be on March 2, with Gary Barlow vs Robbie Williams on March 24.
