Plans to build up to 275 houses at the end of a quiet housing estate has angered some residents.
Last week, the Gazette revealed that landowners were looking to develop a field at the end of Ravens Avenue, Halstead.
Hawkspur as the agent for the owner has revealed that the land could provide in the region of 250-275 new homes.
There were also plans to have open space, recreation areas, perhaps also a neighbourhood food retail store.
A proportion of the new homes would be designated as affordable.
Land owned by Essex County Council nearby has been set aside for a new primary school.
Residents in surrounding roads have mixed reactions to the news of the developments.
Michael, 51, and Helen, 40, Pepper moved into Ravens Avenue eight months ago.
“Access is our main concern,” the couple said.
“This road isn’t big enough and it is already a nightmare."
