The founder of a community wood is celebrating it growing to new heights.

Last year, more than 100 adults and children visited Molly’s Wood, off Hull Mill Lane in Sible Hedingham.

It was set up by Ronald Green, 95, in 2012 in memory of his wife, who died in 1998 and he aims to use the woods to teach children about natural history.

Over the past year, it has grown to feature a Healing Giant made of herbs in memory of teenager Arran Tosh who died from a brain tumour in June and a poppy field to commemorate the First World War centenary.

The visitor’s centre, based in a log cabin, and the toilet unit are also now open and have been furnished thanks to donations.
