A former sub postmaster in Halstead has died.
Philip Bragg, 59, took over the running of the old postmaster’s office in New Street, Halstead, after the death of his father Leonard.
He retired about twenty years ago and it was turned into a house.
He lived for most of his life in Trinity Terrace, in Trinity Street, Halstead with his mother Shirley, who died in 2013.
Mr Bragg died in a home for the elderly in Colchester earlier this month.
Postman John Andrews said: “He was a really capable sub postmaster.
“He ran the post office efficiently.”
