An electrician hopes to break the world land speed record - for a scooter.
Most scooters do not reach much more than 60mph and have become popular for their retro looks.
But Halstead man Stuart Day is building a mean machine that he hopes will reach 150mph - beating the current 124mph record, set by Lambretta in 1954.
Mr Day, who has raced Lambrettas for 30 years, said: “I am building a specialist scooter.
“The aim is 150mph. Hopefully we will get 130mph or 140mph.”
